Creating compelling graphics for an advertising campaign (especially when the client has nothing to start with) is one of the most rewarding experiences. I love the freedom that comes with the question “Can you come up with something?” Not to mention the reaction of seeing the shiny new graphics up on a website. Check out some examples of various advertising campaigns on my Behance portfolio.

Don’t you wish that you could learn the burgeoning craft of shooting video with the newest HDDSLRs? If only there was a resource for all of us video shooters that can’t make it out to LA, NY and Dubai to see the masters of the craft. Well, now there is thanks to Mr. Chase Jarvis and the team at CreativeLIVE. This team has come together to bring the best training in creative media to the masses free of charge. You heard me right, FREE.
So what’s the catch? None, really. CreativeLIVE hosts free webinars by such greats as Vincent Laforet, David duChemin and Art Wolfe, not to mention Chase Jarvis and all you have to do is visit the site while the class is live to watch it free of charge. We all know that nothing is free, someone has to make money somehow, right? CreativeLIVE does this by offering DVDs of these same courses for a fee after the class has been recorded. But that’s it, no subscriptions or fees to watch it live.
So get over to CreativeLIVE’s website now and check out their upcoming classes HERE.

I’ve added a new gallery to my Behance portfolio. I walk you through a recent project that was created for 102.5 KZOK FM, featuring Paul McCartney. The station required a page featuring the latest single from Sir Paul’s upcoming DVD+CD release. The client provided photos taken at the live concert which I used to create a composite image for the website. The image was also featured on the website’s homepage in their rotating flipper.

Since I’ve been so busy lately I’ve decided that I would set up a new online portfolio using the great behance.net service. You can check out my new portfolio here.

Will be coming soon. I am really beginning to ‘beef up’ on my WordPress and CSS techniques so that I can really make my portfolio and blog look their best. I’ve been learning so much from Drew Douglass and his WordPress For Designers tutorials. If you’ve ever wanted to know how to hand code a WordPress template from scratch (by hand!) then do yourself a favor and check these videos out.
So keep checking out the site over the next few months while I work on my new theme. I’d also love to hear your thoughts on the redesign, so feel free to leave comments below.

With 106.1 KISS FM leaving the building I now am the lead webmaster for www.kzok.com. So this week I have begun going over the site page by page to see where the site needs “tweaking.” Man, is this gonna be fun! I am going to have to overhaul the whole site’s CSS and that means going page by page, element by element. This is going to be great practice though. I am learning so much about how NOT to do CSS.
More to come.

No, it’s not an April Fool’s joke… 106.1 KISS FM is really not a CBS station anymore. Since running kissfmseattle.com was about 99.5% of my daily responsibilities I have a lot more free time now. I think this will be a blessing in disguise really.
A year ago I had less on my plate and that gave me time to develop projects and really get into the details of what I was working on. When I took on the main load of the Digital Media department here I instantly became swamped with work. Not that I am complaining, I know that because of the pressure I have grown as a designer and in many other ways that I’m sure I will never know. Now that KISS is gone though, I am excited at the thought of having that free time back.
There are many improvements that I will be making over the next 6-8 months on am1090seattle.com (the site that I am still managing). This will be a fun time, I’m sure, so look ahead to many interesting updates to come!
